Online shopping: Present & Correct

Chalk-Set

The latest online shop that’s got everyone talking is UK-based Present & Correct. And rightly so – it’s a veritable treasure trove for stationery fiends and those with a penchant for good design and vintage paper ephemera. The best part is that stock is constantly updated (ahem, every Wednesday) with new finds sourced from around the world, like these delightful animal growth charts from Melbourne:

My most favourite items are really the most classic and simple, like old-fashioned exercise books and school timetables. Here are some more tasty gems I’m loving:

Cafe-1

Cafe-3

Dish of the Day letterpress notecards, £2.50, feature traditional British fare like pie and peas.

Diary-1
Latin diary 2009, £10.50.

Diary-3
Field diary 2009, £10.50.

Letter-1
Swallow letter set, £7.50.

I'm also loving Present & Correct's inhouse designs, including their A-Z Endangered Species of the British Isles (fast becoming a modern design classic) and their new range of greeting cards.

Alphabet-1

A-Z Endangered Species, £18.50.

Luck-1

Good luck cards, £2.65.

I just love their website but have yet to buy anything myself from them – Top Bird, can you tell us if they’re as good as they look in the flesh?

Fionnuala – good question. I’ve seen the poster at the Design Museum and it’s excellent quality, so that’s a pretty good indication of the standard of the rest of their wares.
I think the fact that Neal and the gang behind Present & Correct are not only graphic designers by trade, they’re also pretty obsessive about printed material, so they’re only going to stock the good stuff. The vintage stuff might be slightly lo-fi, but for me, that only adds to the charm.
    Hope that helps. xx

I’ve bought the poster and notecards, plus some retro items. They were all superb. Really good quality, particularly their own items.

I only bought vintage items from them and the condition of them was really good. I know that some sites sell second hand things which really do look second hand. The books I received were mark free and the paper bags were pristine. Hope this helps. H
