About Wee Birdy:

  • I'm a migratory chick, who's made her home in London after flying her Sydney coop. Wee Birdy is my exploratory field guide to the good stuff in my immediate London hood and sparkling treasures on the horizon.

My flight path covers indie London shops (and occasional flirtation with the High Street), British design, the highlights of local food and snapping people in dandy outfits on the streets.

When I'm not flitting the highways and byways - I'm taking flights of fancy with a click and exploring niche elements of fashion, beauty, design and handmade.

About Top Bird:

  • Top Bird flew her native coop of Sydney, Australia, in February 2007, where she has been an editor of glossy magazines for the past nine years. She is currently nesting in London as a freelance journalist.

Top Bird loves: The Best Of Tatty Devine

I had a sneaky peek at the Spring/Summer 2009 Tatty Devine line-up this afternoon, and it's gearing up to be another winning kitschsy-cool collection with amazing attention to detail. There are some really sweet retro themes, including some rather lovely birds. Stay tuned for pics in the New Year.

In the meantime, Tatty Devine has launched its latest Best Of collection, featuring a carefully edited selection of their top 50 pieces. This year designers Harriet and Rosie grabbed a bunch of their favourite creative friends to model for the campaign, and awarded each person with their own "Best At". Here are some of my favourites, featuring Barbara Ryan (and the record charm bracelet), Mimi Berry (and the birdy brooch), Amelia Gregory (and the lolly necklace), and Eithne Farry (and the red squirrel pendant):

Harriet and Rosie say that "these inspirational people all work very hard at creating and organising fantastic things for all of us, whether it's making music, magazines, art and graphics, designing hats, handbags, haircuts and shoes, or leading the knitting revolution. They all wear Tatty Devine in their everyday life as well as when they're on show." It's a really lovely, heartfelt campaign, and shines a light on some of London's best independent creative talent. The Best of Collection is available now at their Brick Lane and Soho shops, as well as from the Tatty Devine online boutique.

Yes AT LAST i MADE it to the market, so funny I took my friend and made her get the tube and then 2 buses and she was like "where are we going is this a joke?" & then there it was and how lovely. Just like I imagin the 70's to be, every little shop and service you need all on one street. We ate LOADS and had a very nice day indeed & then worked out a much quicker way home!!!
Thanks for all the lovely comments you have left on my blog I have been stupidly busy lately I thought teaming up with my friend Kate would have eased my work load, but no times 5 I would say. yOUR blog is delicious as always
