Bird is the word: A week of giveaways

Coc-f-n
The lovely gang from Tatty Devine have joined the Wee Birdy party, and look what they’ve come up with for my week of giveaways. This adorable cockatiel bead necklace is from their current SS09 collection, and features a delicate pink blush and Swarovski crystal eye. Like the rest of Tatty Devine's amazing pieces, he was handmade in their East London studio.

Cck-bn-front

He’s also reversible, and can be worn showing his little feet peeping out over a branch. Cute!

Coc-bn-back

I also really love the retro-style white beading, which adds a touch of old-fashioned glamour. This very special giveaway is valued at £68. For your chance to win, leave a comment telling me your idea for a fab Tatty Devine necklace (here's mine: a Belle and Sebastian collaboration, yeah!). I’ll be using a random number generator to pick the winner, so get busy with your comments now. All giveaway winners will be announced on Monday 27 July, 2009.

*EDIT* Entries close for all giveaways on Friday 24 July at 6pm (British Summer Time). And please remember to include your email address in your comment so I can contact you if you win!

Thank you Tatty Devine! If you love all things Tatty, you might like to:

  • http://www.thecatgirlspeaks.bogspot.com Cat

My favourite piece is my Tatty Devine tiger, so I’d love to see more really large, chunky necklaces like that one – how about a matching lion? Also, more tattoo influenced stuff, proper old school sailor type things – I have the swallow earrings and absolutely love them.

  • Lily

Remember the Copyright earrings? I loved them and were so gutted when they sold out! Some design related jewelery like that would be brilliant-the collection could be called ‘C M Y Ok’! Hee hee. A necklace with just the four little coloured squares would be lovely, and would remain a classic as well :) On that note a little Apple Macbook or any laptop neckace, or even a camera necklace would be great! :)

  • Hannah

masonic symbols could be really cool translated into Tatty’s signature acrylic.

  • ellie

How about a range of really cute umbrellas? With candy stripes and handles made in the shape of birds or CAKES!

  • Sarah Bell

A King and Queen collection – regal colour palette and lush opulence would turn my innards to velvet

  • Lily

Oohhh I agree with the King and Queen collection! That could be fab..if it was done in a pack-of-cards style. The different suits on the cards would make lovely pendants, or even charm bracelets! There could even be a necklace with a big red heart that said ‘Queen of your Hearts’!:)

  • http://itstimefortea.etsy.com Alice

I think a croissant would be nice!

  • http://makedostyle.blogspot.com Make Do Style

Good grief – I go off filming, you have a competition and everyone wants to be a winner. I’m thinking a squirrel – I need a squirrel something. I’m very partial to deer too but I know they’ve delivered on that!

  • http://conversationpieces.co.uk/ Zoe, Conversation Pieces

What a gorgeous giveaway! Well they already did my dream team-up with Rob Ryan… maybe a team-up with Zoey Deschanel? (Well if Kate Moss can do Topshop!)
Other than that I would love if they did a ‘UK Love’ (with themed England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland necklaces… I would have to invest in some Scotland of course!)

  • Mads

How about a London skyline necklace? I see the Gherkin, Big Ben, the London Eye, Albert Bridge. Or, even better, as I am a Battersea girl, how about a Battersea necklace?! Dogs’ Home (or just dogs) power station, peace pagoda and Albert Bridge…

  • Holly

    argh! cute!

  • http://helplesscircus.blogspot.com/ Chris

Yay for Tatty Devine! Such fun jewellery! I think it would be cool to see Tatty Devine do a collab with Ligia Digas. I think combining the cutesy and whimsical look of TD with LD’s slightly harder, more glam-punk look would be cool.
Or maybe Natalia Brilli could bring a bit of a dark, rock edge to TD.
For a non-jewellery collab I think the designer Walter Van Beirendonck could be interesting. His wild color schemes and surreal knits would look great with a bit of TD goodness.

  • Gem

A bakelite brooch of the caped figure that appeared on Phil Spector 45s in the 1960s…

  • Liz

What about hats? Great scope there for some classic Tatty Devine persex silhouettes. Bowler hats, top hats, deerstalkers, flat caps, bonnets, riding hats.
Or a riding theme charm-style necklace with hard hat, boots and crop?

  • Anna

I think they should do a collection inspired by wonders of the world – and not stick to the ancient ones as there are so many amazing ones. Perhaps one wonder per country? So they could do a tour of the world in necklaces. USA could be Statue of Liberty and my favourite would be Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany – the most amazing fairytale castle there is!

  • shukumei

Tatty Devine meets Ladurée – lots of yummy looking pieces like macaron earrings and necklaces…

  • Spannerchilde

    gold feathers…

  • Page Smith

Perhaps a miniature devine “Tatty” book fitted to a ring. Open the book to find a TD throbbing red heart !!
