Birdy pick of the week

My stand-out Christmas gift for kids this year: the brilliant PlayShapes by Brighton-based Miller Goodman. These modular wooden blocks can be made into a variety of shapes, characters and animals. £69.95 for a set of 74 blocks. They're also available from Aram Store in London.
