Wee Christmas finds: The best gift wrapping ideas

Have you started wrapping your presents yet? I’ve rounded up some of the best ideas from Pinterest. Funnily enough, my favourite parcels are all wrapped with brown kraft paper. And I love the idea of drawing pictures/patterns straight onto the wrap with a white or silver pen. So clever.

I’m still making pom-poms for my presents. I’ll try to pop a picture up some time this week of my progress.

With thanks and admiration to sources clockwise from top left: Hello Naomi; 100 Layer Cake; aprintadayarchives.blogspot.com; Creature Comforts; A Creative Mint; Paper Crave.

Have a look at my Parcel Goodness board on Pinterest for more genius wrapping ideas.

With thanks and admiration to sources from clockwise top left: Robbie and Erin; Art as life; Iffer’s Nest (possibly originally Decor 8 – anyone?); Hey Look; Mer Mag; Das Kaninchen’s Flickr; Petunia; The Purl Bee.

p.s. I’ve done my best to credit the makers/photographers, but one of the frustrating things about Pinterest is that it’s all too easy to lose the original source through repinning or lazy crediting. Gah! Let me know if you know the correct source!

How are you going with your wrapping? Inspired by anything you see here?

Love your work – they are just gorgeous! Love the doilies-that-look-like-snowflakes idea. I’m also using a lot of brown paper again this year…and have ordered red and white twine from Papermash (thanks to you!). Contemplating using my alphabet stamps to put names on tags. I also love my pinking shears for cutting up and recycling last year’s xmas cards ;-)

I also love brown kraft paper, it always looks classy and is so versatile, as your photos demonstrate. I used some this year for my gift wrapping (which I am nearly done with). Mine are not nearly as pretty though. I hate wasting things, so I have a box full of bags and paper and ribbon from years past that I use. I end up with a crazy mix of gifts, but I have fun doing it! Some day I may decide to do something more cohesive, but I doubt it :)

I love brown paper as well (although the sticky tape always comes off) love the idea of the doilies – I wonder where I can get some from?

Yay for brown paper, red and white twine, stamps, pinking shears and recycled Xmas cards! You’re a clever birdy, Jenny! Post a pic of your parcels on Wee Birdy’s Facebook page! xx

I’m going with kraft paper too, Joani. I love the fact you’re reusing all your ribbons – that’s what I do, too. I love it all mixed-up and old-school. xx

Missgourmetchick! You’ve gotta get the right sticky – I think the translucent stuff peels off. Annoying! Do you have Franklins in Victoria? My local Franklins stocks packets of doilies for $2 in the party section. You could try large newsagencies, too! xx
