About Wee Birdy

rebecca_photoWee Birdy was founded by Sydney native Rebecca Lowrey Boyd (aka Top Bird) during the summer of 2007 in London. Inspired by London’s history and unique sense of style, Rebecca started blogging about her new finds and shopping adventures.

A journalist with 17 years’ experience, Rebecca was the editor of some of Australia’s leading women’s magazines including Cosmopolitan Bride, Cosmopolitan Hair & Beauty, Cosmopolitan Pregnancy and Bride to Be, as well as many children’s magazine titles.

Rebecca has lectured in journalism at Sydney’s Macleay College, and has volunteered at Look Good, Feel Better and the Sydney Children’s Hospital.

In London, Rebecca freelanced as a journalist and social media consultant and was appointed Deputy Shopping & Style Editor at Time Out London. Most recently, Rebecca was the editor of Crafts & DIY at Tuts+.

Rebecca has been invited to speak at various blogging, design and craft industry events over the years, and has been interviewed for many print, radio and television stories.

She is recognised as a major international tastemaker and style influencer, and is an official tastemaker for Etsy and Great.ly.

Rebecca is a Mum to her three-year-old son and a wife to her web- and app-designer husband. She is currently renovating her very own treehouse in Sydney, Australia.

Rebecca is passionate about books, birds, 20th-century design and occasionally makes pom-poms.
